On Saturday afternoon

Once upon a sunny Saturday afternoon, Mr. Naidoo and his daughter, Reshnee, loved going to the mall together. As they approached the mall's entrance, Reshnee's excitement bubbled over, and she couldn't resist running through the automatic sliding doors. "Don't run too far ahead," Mr. Naidoo called after her.

Inside the mall, there was so much to see. They passed by clothing shops, shoe stores, grocery stores, health and beauty shops, mobile phone stores, and even a post office. It was a big place, but there were friendly security guards dressed in uniforms to help anyone who got lost and keep everyone safe.

Mr. Naidoo needed to visit the salon to get a haircut. Mrs. Chamunga, who worked at the salon, greeted them warmly. Mrs. Chamunga was originally from Zimbabwe and had come to South Africa when the economy in Zimbabwe faced difficulties.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Chamunga," Mr. Naidoo greeted her. "Good afternoon, Mr. Naidoo. Oh, hello there, Reshnee," Mrs. Chamunga replied. Reshnee smiled and said, "Hello, Mrs. Chamunga." Mr. Naidoo explained that he came to trim his hair. Mrs. Chamunga assured him that Adekola, a young man from Nigeria, would take care of it. Adekola had come to South Africa in search of better opportunities.

Reshnee loved being at the mall because she knew her father would buy her an ice cream. As Adekola finished trimming Mr. Naidoo's hair, he handed him a bill of R50. Mr. Naidoo took out his wallet and gave Adekola the money. Reshnee wondered if her father had enough money left to buy her an ice cream.

"Thank you," Mr. Naidoo said to Adekola. "Let's go, Reshnee." Reshnee's excitement grew, and she asked her father if he would buy her an ice cream. Mr. Naidoo replied, "Of course, my dear! But first, let's stop by the cell phone repair shop to see if Muhammed has finished fixing your mother's phone." Muhammed, who was from Pakistan, had left his country due to conflicts in the Middle East.

Arriving at the cell phone repair shop, Mr. Naidoo inquired about the progress of Mrs. Naidoo's phone. Unfortunately, Muhammed informed them that it wasn't yet fixed and asked them to check back on Tuesday.

Undeterred, Mr. Naidoo said, "Let's head to the grocery store to buy the items your mother wrote on the list. After that, I promise, we'll get you your ice cream."

Reshnee hopped into the shopping trolley, and together they made their way to the grocery store. Once they finished shopping, it was finally time for ice cream. Reshnee's face lit up with joy as Mr. Naidoo approached the ice cream vendor. He ordered two ice creams while the vendor asked, "What flavors would you like, sir?" Mr. Naidoo chose chocolate, and Reshnee, with pure delight, exclaimed, "Strawberry, please!"
